VANCOUVER COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Welcome to Vancouver Community College
It is our great pleasure to welcome you to Vancouver Community College (VCC). Since 1965, VCC has earned a strong and well-deserved reputation for our commitment to community, our student-centred approach, our award-winning faculty, and our range of access and applied career programming. We strive to create new opportunities and offer enriched educational experiences for all of our students.
Located in the heart of the city, VCC offers academic, cultural, and social environments that inspire relevant real-world training. Our on campus facilities - including gourmet restaurants, an auto shop, and VCC’s newly renovated salon and spa - allow students to hone their skills and training while providing high-quality lower-cost services to the Downtown and East Vancouver communities.
VCC is proud to inspire a new generation of students to discover their passions, gain essential skills, and learn what it takes to succeed in a competitive workforce. With over 23,000 students, including a growing number of Aboriginal and International learners, 1100 employees and an annual budget of $105 million, VCC is a key player in the post-secondary landscape in B.C. Our connections to industry ensure that our students have direct access to employers while our model of access and our partnerships across the post-secondary sector assist students to reach their goals at any stage of their educational journey.
Our commitment to diversity, accessibility, quality, and relevance makes VCC a unique and exciting place to study. We believe that VCC students have unlimited potential, and it’s our job to make sure our graduates are equipped with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed.

Walk into any five-star hotel, award-winning kitchen, bakery, music studio, auto-shop, or hospital in Vancouver and you’re sure to meet a talented and successful VCC grad. Our commitment to access, community, and advanced skills training ensures our students are well positioned to break new ground in their chosen fields after graduation. With over 22,000 students annually, including a growing number of International and Aboriginal learners, VCC is uniquely positioned to offer both access and applied career programming and skills training.
VCC, like other post-secondary institutions in B.C., understand the challenges and opportunities within our sector. We are facing an impending skills gap where the number of jobs in the province will exceed the number of people with appropriate skills or training. We believe one way to begin to address this skills gap starts with innovation and collaboration within the post-secondary system. Understanding that students want choices when it comes to their post-secondary education, in 2012 we signed an agreement with BCIT and SFU to open doors, remove barriers that exist between one school and the next, and explore new methods of program development.
VCC brings together people from many backgrounds and cultures; we strive to create new opportunities, build community, and offer enriched educational experiences. Our strong ties to the Downtown and East Vancouver neighbourhoods are evident in our many diverse partnerships, while our direct connections to industry enhance the relevancy of our programs, and the future success of our graduates.
